Story Making and Reading for ALL

 

Starting point of the project:

The national project in Greece “Giving life to images” was the original idea behind Stories4All. The project took place between 2020 and 2021 in collaboration with e-Nable Greece and Amimoni. The goal of the project was to create a tactile edition for 10 fairy tales designed by Amimoni using 3D printing technology.

    Objectives of the project:

    Creation of a for designing a new or transforming an existing story/educational material into visual-audio-tactile (3D-printed) form.

    Training families and teachers of students with VI on how to use the Guidebook and develop digital skills (story design, image design/editing, and 3D printing)

    Developing the ability of families and teachers to create their own stories and convert unlimited material into a fully accessible format

    Networking between consortium organizations and stakeholders.

    Expected outcomes:

    For families and teachers of students with VI, development of: Digital skills (digital story creation, image editing, 3D printing) for designing educational materials appropriate for students with VI.

    Social integration of children and their families through participation of children and the whole family in educational activities and social events.

    Quality leisure time together for family members and the child, which will ease their hectic everyday life and strengthen their bonds.

    Strengthening the capacity of organizations to implement EU projects

    Time of recreation, education, joy for children through the “reading” of a fairy tale, as for any child.

    Experience using digital tools (Storybird, Tinkercad, Image2STL, etc.).

    Target groups

    Direct:

    • Trainers of the consortium
    • Teachers of special or inclusive schools with students with VI.
    • Families of students with VI. Through training and dissemination activities, we aim to support all members of a family (siblings, parents, grandparents, etc.).

    Indirect:

    • Students with VI, i.e., low or no vision.
    • Students without disabilities who attend an inclusive class.
