Workshop Athens

Train the Families or Teachers of VI

On April 1st and 2nd, a highly successful workshop was held in Athens at the headquarters of Amimoni as part of the European Stories4ALL project. The event brought together families and trainers of individuals with visual disabilities, providing them with valuable knowledge and tools to enhance their storytelling skills.

Over the course of two days, parents, siblings, and professionals immersed themselves in the art of storytelling. They were guided through the fundamentals of effective storytelling and received comprehensive training on developing stories specifically tailored for individuals with visual disabilities.

The workshop also introduced participants to basic digital tools, enabling them to transform digital stories into tactile experiences. A highlight of the event was the exploration of 3D printing technology, which allowed participants to create tangible versions of their stories. This groundbreaking approach aimed to make storytelling more accessible and engaging for individuals with visual disabilities, fostering a multi-sensory and inclusive experience.

As a parent, I am grateful for the opportunity to attend this workshop. The knowledge and skills I gained will undoubtedly strengthen the bond with my visually impaired child. The hands-on experience with 3D printing was truly transformative, allowing us to create stories that can be explored through touch and imagination.
